The Monday Mash

This week is going to be uber busy and I've got a ton of stuff mashing through my head so please enjoy this list of randomness...

  • The weather around here has been so nutty! For the last two weeks I've ran my long runs on Saturday in shorts and a tank top and then had to wear a long sleeve shirt and capri's for my recovery runs on Sunday. WTF?!?! Get your act together Florida! Although after seeing posts like this, this and this I really can't complain...

  • This week is my last week of training before TAPER! We have our final long run, 22± M, set for Saturday on Bayshore, part of the Gasparilla race route and I can't wait! Can you say dress rehearsal???

  • I had a blast Saturday night at my friend Yvonn-ey's B-day party, it has been sooooo long since I've seen all my girls and it was fun to catch up. For the record though, I do not miss the smokey bar scene, OMG my lungs were on fire!!!

  • As I said in my post from the weekend, I have some fun stuff coming up this week including a sports bra review (OH YES I HAVE FINALLY FOUND ONE TO FIT!!!) and quite a bit of celebrating to do! Make sure you stay tuned in!
  • I am a hungry, hungry hippo lately. All this training is making me absolutely famished! I work out so much during the week and by Friday, my rest day, I could eat a small child if it were to wander too close! *Feed the Redhead!!!*

  • Countdown's... 1 week til TAPER, 2 weeks til the Donna Half with Jill, 3 weeks til Gasparilla and 3 1/2 weeks til I get to see Spike again! I am so ready for all of this to hurry up and get here!!!

Ok that's it for me, I hope ya'll had a fantabulous weekend and I am anxiously awaiting all the Surf City race recaps!!!

Hungy Hippo...me too!! LOL!

Love the randomness and that you get to do a dress rehearsal.. Hmmm wonder if I can swing a Eugene trip prior to my race?? doubtful..

Hugs to the clock working its way toward the things we are excited about.

YAY for all of this super exciting stuff coming up! So are you more excited about Gasparilla or Spike? (Don't answer that, hehehe)

Smoking has been banned in bars here for years... I find it so strange to imagine sitting in a smoke-filled bar. Glad you had a fun night out!

I think my kids would be pretty tasty for a hungry hippo ;)

Thank you for not complaining about your weather too much. Good luck on your last big mileage week!

Excited for your itty bitty titty committee sports bra review!

Smoking has been banned inside any building in my state for years now. Its weird for me to see ppl smoking inside now.

Sorry the weather has been so rough for you! Last march when I was in Tampa it was a cold 65 degrees and i was very upset!

Love the random post! Awesome job on the 18 miler!
And I am HUNGRY ALL THE TIME, too! I love the training but hate the hunger! LOL!
You have lots to look forward to - it will be here before you know it!!
Happy Monday!!

There has been a smoking ban for years in NYC, and when I travel to someplace without a ban, it seems medieval. Its like when I think back to when I was a kid, and you could smoke on airplanes! Once a ban happens, you'll wonder how it ever was any other way.

As for the hunger, I get soooo hungry after I run I want to eat everything. Maybe because in the pre-marathon run up, I am so disciplined about every thing I eat, at what time,in what proportion, that after training and the race, I just want to eat. Now. And lots of it. So, good luck with that!

I always say that marathon training reduces you to your primal form - you are hungry for food and sleep, and when either comes it's delicious!!!

I look forward to seeing you at Gasparilla!!! You are going to rock it - you are training so well!!!

Yay for taper!! I have my lsat looooooooooong run this weekend before taper for my marathon on 2/27--and then it's right back and at it for two more marathons before May. Gulp! But, good news is, for the last 8 months or so, I've always been ahead of my training group because our goal races are different, in just a few weeks (after Catalina on 3/13) I'll be on track with them for OKC and won't have to get up at unGodly hours to run by myself before the group meets. YAY!

3.5 weeks till you see Spike? It'll fly by sista, you've got a lot going on in those 3.5 weeks!

No smoking in PA. Thank goodness! I REALLY dislike smokers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could find a soap box.

But I won't.

Wow your race is in 2 weeks! I am still saying the number of days (28). It makes it seem like I have more time.

Glad you had a great weekend.

That is one thing I don't miss either--WV banned it a couple years ago. I always get shocked when we head south and you can smoke every where!
Good luck on your race :)

so... your man isn't even coming to visit on v-day? i mean... such a big and important holiday! no points for him.

yeah. no whining about your temps. what did it drop down to 50? you can still wear shorts and a tee in that ;)

anddddd i don't want to have to go back to school. (part laziness) i just want to get a cool job in something unrelated to what i've done/studied because i am awesome haha.

Smoking is thank goodness banned here too!! Can not stand that smell!

Otherwise, I'm thinking of choosing a warm weather half for next year, maybe the Donna...looking forward to hearing how it went.
Great job on your training!

Bleh, snow. You're so lucky. I can't believe they still allow smoking in bars down there! I hated waking up the next morning smelling like a chain smoker after going to a bar the night before.

Teamarcia said...

When you get a second would you please remind me where to donate for your Gasparilla/Autism efforts? I meant to do that sooner. Better late than never I hope?

ChristieisaRunner said...

I hate smoky bars too and am glad that our restaurants are now all Non smoking.
That sounds like fabulous weather. I'd love to have some of that up here. And I'm only in TN.
Good luck on your half.

As a member of the itty bitty titty committee (but thankfully NOT president) , I am so looking forward to that sports bra review.

Have a great week, girl!

Mmmm, taper is awesome. Although, i've found that I STILL stay super hungry. Which is annoying - mostly because I don't have the excuse to continue to eat anymore!! (as if I needed an excuse)

just laughed so hard at the "feed the Redhead" line!
